The hotel is set on the side of a cliff overlooking the sea. It is idyllic and very peaceful. A great place to get away from it all.
Not enough choice of food in the restaurants in the evenings.

I had stayed at the hotel some 9 years earlier and it was special then, I have to say the standard has moved on to a level that I found exceptional I will be returning next year for a longer stay and will be telling my friends to visit also.

The hotel was in fact the bright spot of our entire trip to Spain. Although a bit expensive, it managed to satisfy all our preferences for comfort, location and romance. It's a very specific and really nice place, pictoresque, quiet, comfortable and friendly. We did enjoy our stay there. Let us also emphasize the friendliness and skills of the Alhambra bar staff, very creative and nice people. Our verdict: heartily recommended.
It was SPA. The facility list is surprisingly short: only one sauna cabin, only few primitive showers: a sharp contrast to e.g. the Austrian Zeefischer Hotel's spa which had really excited us last January .At Montiboli's spa there were even not enough benches to leave our towels and bathgowns upon! To add to this, there were strange (and apparently useless) rules introduced sometime during our stay: plastic slippers and kind of shower caps for every visitor. Can you imagine a man in surgical boots in a sauna?

Should have been told it was overlooking a nudist beach! Extremely expensive but breakfast on our balcony was worth it.
A perfect location if you want to relax at the hotel or on the beach. The room was clean and comfortable with beautiful views of the sea. The restaurant and the food were perfect and Ferdinand was the most outstanding member of the staff at the hotel. I would definately go back.
The staff seemed unhappy, but were helpful, the night security guard was rude and hostile, and spoilt the atmosphere of the hotel.

Restauant service rushed and unhelpful. Food poor, although expected Michelin star, it deffinately didn't have or merit one. Bar is expensive.

The design of the hotel was unusual. The location was excellent for us - we were there for our 30th anniversary. The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was good, with excellent views. The service was prompt.
The one thing that we did not like was that there were certain areas in the hotel that were not clean. Specifically the panoramic pool had a lot of black mould on the grouting. In the spa, the tiles in the steam room were equally dirty, and in the jacuzzi, some of the plastic surround was also mouldy. The other thing we did not like is that the restaurant did not serve coffee at the end of the meal. Clients had to move upstairs to the bar. We do not think that this was in keeping with a 5* hotel.

A minibus service for guests into town or to the railway station would be great for those without own car
Views, closeness to the sea, architecture
The Hotel is in a beautiful setting overlooking the sea and small cove. Excellent service and great spa facilities. The gourmet food served in the evening- good portions and presented beautifully. This is our second visit here and we would definitely come again.
The only negative view is the price of having our pets with us at 43 euros a night.
I have stayed here before,always a relaxing break after a 2000 km trip around Spain.
